HERITAGE LEAFLETS PRESENTED TO SCHOOLS
16 February 2010
Members of Kirby, Great Broughton and Ingleby Greenhow (KGBIG) Local History Group returned to two schools...

they had worked with during last term’s Time Travellers* project, to present  their Heritage Trails Leaflets.

Ingleby Greenhow and Kirby and Great Broughon schools worked with KGBIG LHG during Autumn 2009 and together they walked part of the trails on 1 December 2009 . As part of the project they visited North Yorkshire County Record Office (NYCRO) in Northallerton  to tour the office, and view maps and documents. They were joined by Dave Evans from Yorkshire Museums Trust who brought along a range of artefacts. The children also took part in a map quiz. The winning team from each school was awarded a copy of Jeffreys Yorkshire map for their schools’ area.  To mark the collaboration between the schools and KGBIG LHG, the group arranged for the maps to be framed and presented the finished article to each school at assemblies on Friday 12 February 2010.

The group launched the leaflets on 22 January and they can be downloaded from the group website.
